WD Enterprises, Inc. to Launch Magazine
United States of America (Press Release) October 2008 -- CORNELIUS, NC  Longtime successful Lake Norman-area publisher Sharon Simpson is launching a glossy high-end lake lifestyle magazine that will reflect the changing face of this fast-growing and highly desirable area.

The publication, Lake Norman Currents, will debut in December with a dazzling special holiday issue. Regular monthly publication begins in January.

Lake Norman Currents will be a magazine created by and for the people who call Lake Norman home, Simpson says. The reader will find beautiful photography, compelling content, engaging features, creative design and a true sense of community.

Simpson, a native of Charlotte and a resident of the lake area for more than 20 years, has been involved in the advertising sales side of magazines since 1987. She became a publisher in 1999, using her leadership and community skills to build a dynamic staff and publication.
She will bring that success and a well-established team to Lake Norman Currents.
?Advertisers and casual readers alike will notice some familiar faces who have agreed to join me in this exciting endeavor,? she says.

The editor will be Carol-Faye Ashcraft, a Lake Norman area resident for 10 years and an award-winning journalist who has worked for newspapers throughout the Southeast. She began her magazine career as editor of HeartLand Boating, a recreational boating magazine based in St. Louis, in 1998 and became a magazine editor in the Lake Norman region three years ago after two years as managing editor. She is the newest member of the Currents team.

Advertising sales representative Cindy Gleason has been involved in area magazines since 1986, and sales representative Kim Morton began her magazine career in 1994. Jennifer Hansell, an 18-year veteran in the magazine sales field and Cindy Dorman with over 6 years of magazine sales experience, complete this dynamic team of sales professionals.

All members of the team live on or near the lake and spend much of their recreation time boating on Lake Norman. They are active and recognizable members of the community.
The magazine, which will be based in Cornelius, will include features on homes, gardens, medicine, finance, pets, travel, recreation, dining and entertainment, as well as driving personalities in the lake community. It will be distributed free and will be available at area outlets as well as through home delivery.
